New here and starting a project.
I bought a new 1720lb 4x8 harbor freight trailer and plan on cutting it down to 40" x 6' following jscherb's guide and to take the middle leaf out of the leaf pack to make it smoother.
I plan on making a 40"x5' box on the back and have a cargo rack on the front. Looking to have room to put a trailer spare and my jeep spare on front of trailer along with a fuel can. Trailer is gonna be used for trips. It will carry  the baby stroller and our cooler and other gear.
Not sure on what to make the box out of was thinking tongue and groove walls with plywood floor and lid with angle iron corners and needs to be lockable.
Any suggestions are welcome

Sounds like a fun project. I would use plywood with solid wood corner blocks, strong and lightweight
